DownloadWe have an extensive welcome process in place to make the transition smooth for our residents. We strive to give our families the peace of mind when they need it most. We are committed to provide frequent and honest communication with our families to keep them informed on their loved one’s well being.
We understand that not one care plan fits all. Daily services can include anything from meal preparation, hygiene, cleaning, and supervision. We will take the time to get to know you and develop an individualized care plan that fits your specific needs. We enhance every day of our seniors' lives by providing personalized care and delicious meals within our Pepper Tree home.
Companionship is key to a trusted relationship with our caregivers. We not only strive to help you with everyday tasks but want to develop a caring relationship with you. We ensure that all our residents receive personalized care and attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from our well-trained and caring staff.
1) Take a tour, bring your siblings, not your husband or wife. Ask questions, Ask anything.
2) Talk to your family: “ I found a month to month option that provides all the things we need, room, meals, & full time care. I want to try this for one month and see if this solution is for us.
3) Leave a deposit for the waitlist option or room, this is 100% refundable if you don’t move in.
Moving in:
1) Month to month rent: “Mom we are just going to try this for now”, but know you are actually going to try it for 2 months.
2) Pack a carry-on sized suitcase with just the basics for what you would take on a weeklong vacation, toiletries, clothing, hat, sunglasses, slippers, shoes, and any incontinence supplies you currently use.
3) Don’t sell the house! Please give us 2 months before making any big changes.
4) Let us connect and settle in. During the 1st 2 weeks call often but limit your visits.
5) 3rd week do a short visit 30 minutes or less. Continue these as you wish but don’t bring big groups of family, just a few at a time.

We were finally able to rest easier because we knew our dad would be taken care of properly in your home. It's not only something we could see, but because of you, your compassion and character, we could feel! It's obvious how special you are and how you bring that to your home! Thank you for everything. We were scrambling for something and you opened up your heart and your home and also gave us support and information to facilitate the move. John's family, January 2020
We were 3 daughters trying to care for mom in her own home and in the beginning, it worked, we would take turns and check on mom about 4 hours a day. That turned into 8 hours a day and finally, one of us had to sleep at her house every night. We tried everything we could to keep her in her own home even hiring caregivers. Finally, we thought she needed more care, and a type of care we could no longer provide. She needed full assistance bathing, toileting, and even feeding at times. We were exhausted. We moved our mom to Pepper Tree, where she thrived, received excellent care and good nutritious food. We were able to visit all throughout Covid in different manners but we were able to spend our time visiting and enjoying time with mom instead of providing the care that was exhausting us. We are so happy we found Pepper Tree, they kept mom comfortable and happy in a safe home during COVID.
We had mom at a large facility, but she was still lonely. We thought she would engage and interact more with the residents but she easily became overwhelmed by seeing too many new faces every day. She was sitting in her room and would say “No one ever comes and gets me, I wait, but no one comes”. She was intimidated by the activities and there were not enough caregivers to prompt our mom to attend a meal, activity, or event. When she moved to Pepper Tree she made friends, the same faces at breakfast, lunch & dinner. The caregivers would get her up, do a sponge bath, prompt her to brush her hair and teeth and bring her out in the morning. Our mom loves the chair yoga routine and does it every morning, the music is uplifting. Pepper Tree staff take her on walks, find gardening projects she enjoys, and make her comfortable in the afternoon while she continues her art projects on the back deck.
We wanted our mom to stay at home and hired caregivers around the clock. It was getting expensive but she could afford it so we stayed with that care. The problem was the hiring, firing, no-shows, and all the hassles of managing caregivers came down to us. We had things go missing, certain caregivers would ask for more money than what we had agreed upon, and we never knew which caregiver was going to show up with the agency. Mom continued falling, but not as frequently, yet she still suffered falls. Although some caregivers would engage in conversations with her, we thought Mom would benefit from companionship with people her own age. She couldn’t relate to the international caregivers that were supposed to be providing companionship. When mom moved into Pepper Tree, everyone was local, from Palos Verdes or Torrance. They talked about grandchildren, children, and hobbies they had in common. They reminisced about travels they had to Europe, Cabo San Lucas, and told stories of their lives. This is where the real connection was made and Mom had friends, people who cared about her, and looked forward to seeing her at the breakfast table each morning.
Come for a tour, you can see for yourself. We want your family to feel at home here and we want you to feel at home here. If you're exhausted and need a solution we are here to help.
We can relieve the stress, restore energy and promote a
better quality of life for you and your loved ones.
